I was dissappointed by my recent dining experience at Ralph's. I obviously was expecting too much based on the many great reviews I've read. Ignore the hype and bragging that they're the oldest italian restaurant. Its just a marketing ploy. The 3 story layout was akward and the lighting far too bright. It felt more like a fancy cafeteria with poor and rushed service to match. The bread: utterly forgetable. Antipasto: Good, yet could have been prepared and presented far better. The mussels appetizers: tasty and quite large for the price. Lasagna: Average in taste and size. Linguine Pescatore: Smaller than expected with not enough foodfood. Veal Parmigina: Large and tender, however, the breading, cheese and gravy literally tasted like it came from a dinner. Ravioli: the side order comprised only of 3 small pieces of average taste. Drinks: Small and overpriced. Of course reviews are subjective based on experience and expectations, however, I wouldn't bother going back unless it was convenient. I give Ralph's **1/2 stars.
